The USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll
remained unchanged from a week ago, with Valencia leading the rankings after closing its season with a 32-1 mark and the CIF Southern Section Division I championship.
Valencia has not relinquished the top spot all season, leading the rankings for a record 10th straight week. Canyon del Oro (Ariz.) stayed in the No. 2 spot, followed by third-ranked Everglades (Fla.), No. 4 Sunnyside (Ariz.) and fifth-ranked Broad Run (Va.).
Sheldon (Calif.) remained at No. 6, giving California two teams in the top 10 once again. Spruce Creek (Fla.) claimed the seventh position once again, while Garland (Texas) led all “Lone Star State” schools with an eighth-place showing. St. Mary’s (Ariz.) and Butler (N.C.) rounded out the top 10 for the second consecutive poll.
Buena (Ariz.) came in at No. 11, with Shadle Park (Wash.), South Florence (S.C.), Naples (Fla.) and Archbishop Mitty (Calif.) taking the remaining top 15 slots respectively.
Bishop O’Connell (Va.) held firm at No. 16, while Soddy Daisy (Tenn.) stayed in 17th after debuting a week ago.
Kennedy (Calif.), Marcus (Texas) and North Davidson (N.C.) claimed the Nos. 18-20 spots, respectively again this week, while Northwest (Texas), Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), Lakeland (Mich.), Vestavia Hills (Ala.) and Central Cabarrus (N.C.) rounded out the poll for the back-to-back weeks.
