USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll
Valencia (Calif.) remained atop the USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll
for the third straight week, the association announced Thursday.
A new No. 2 team emerged this week, as Naples (Fla.) advanced one place after Buena (Ariz.) dropped a game last week to fall to No. 8.
Camarillo (Calif.) moved up to third, followed by Canyon del Oro (Ariz.), Central Cabarrus (N.C.), Justin Northwest (Texas) and Spruce Creek (Fla.) who all also progressed one spot.
Kennedy (Calif.) moved up a slot to ninth, while Jesuit (Ore.) landed in the top 10 after Smithson Valley (Texas) fell two places to No. 11.
Nos. 12-16 stayed the same, with St. Amant (La.) leading the way followed by Red Mountain (Ariz.), Jacksonville Mandarin (Fla.), Brentwood (Tenn.) and Burleson (Texas).
Broad Run (Va.) jumped three places to No. 17, just ahead of a Sheldon (Calif.) squad that leaped one notch. Shadle Park (Wash.) leaped into the top 20 at No. 19 after vaulting two places from last week’s rankings.
South Florence (S.C.) continued its winning ways to move up two places to No. 20, while North Canton Hoover (Ohio) dropped three places to No. 21.
Butler (N.C.) advanced to 22nd, and newcomer Vestavia Hills (Ala.) debuted at No. 23, just ahead of another newcomer, Pearland (Texas). Piedra Vista (N.M.) and Layton (Utah) round out the poll, tying for the 25th positions.
