USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll
Valencia (Calif.) completed a full-season run atop the USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll
as it claimed the top spot in the final poll of the season.
Valencia finished the year with a 32-1 mark as the poll remained unchanged for the second straight week with Canyon del Oro (Ariz.) following in second and Everglades (Fla.) in third.
Sunnyside (Ariz.) stayed at No. 4 to give the state two teams in the top five. Broad Run (Va.) concluded its season with a No. 5 national ranking, coming in just ahead of No. 6 Sheldon (Calif.).
Spruce Creek (Fla.), one of two teams from the “Sunshine State” in the top 10, stayed at No. 7, and Garland (Texas), St. Mary’s (Ariz.) and Butler (N.C.) followed at Nos. 8-10, respectively.
Buena (Ariz.) finished the year just outside the top 10, staying at No. 11 while Shadle Park (Wash.) capped a stellar year with a No. 12 national showing. South Florence (S.C.), Naples (Fla.) and Archbishop Mitty (Calif.) rounded out the top 15.
Bishop O’Connell (Va.) capped its year with a No. 16 rating after finishing a stellar 29-2. Soddy Daisy (Tenn.) followed at No. 17, while Kennedy (Calif.) remained at No. 18 again this week.
Marcus (Texas) and North Davidson (N.C.) rounded out the top 20 at Nos. 19 and 20 respectively for the second consecutive week. Northwest (Texas), Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), Lakeland (Mich.), Vestavia Hills (Ala.) and Central Cabarrus (N.C.) rounded out the final poll of the season.
