For the State of Florida, postseason softball is now underway. That makes the challenge even greater for Naples (Florida) to stay on top of the USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25.

Naples closed out the regular season this past week with three straight shut outs. Coach Robert Iamurri’s club enters postseason play as the Class 4A, District 12 champions with an overall record of 25-1. That finish means Naples is again nationally No. 1 for a second straight week.

Some major poll shakeups took place after that. Nine ranked teams lost last week, including teams holding spots two through four. The new Top Five includes No. 2 Valencia (California), No. 3 North Davidson (North Carolina), No. 4 Frisco Wakeland (Texas) and No. 5 Centennial (Arizona).

The USA Today/NFCA Top 25 is compiled by state representatives from across the country. Records for this week’s poll include all games played through April 25, 2010.
