Fort Bend Elkins (Missouri City, Texas) won its 70th consecutive game, and eyes the playoffs looking to go unbeaten and finish No. 1 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll for the second consecutive year.

The Knights are followed by fellow Texas 5A power Keller, setting up a potential state and national championship game in Texas. Unbeaten Palm Harbor University (Fla.) sits in third, followed by poll mainstays Central Cabarrus (Concord, N.C.) and Bartow (Fla.).

Tomball (Texas) checks in at No. 6, followed by Valencia (Calif.), fresh off of a huge upset of previously-No. 2 Corona, which fell to eighth. El Dorado (Placentia, Calif.) is ninth while Pacifica (Garden Grove, Calif.) rounds out the top ten.

St. John Vianney (Holmdel, N.J.) remained 11th, followed by Tucson Sabino (Ariz.), Tampa Chamberlain (Fla.), Glendale Cactus (Ariz.) and Midland Lee (Texas).

Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.) is 16th, followed by Lakewood (Fla.) Ranch, St. Amant (La.), Garland (Texas) and Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.)

The last five ranked teams are Buena (Sierra Vista, Ariz.), Royal (Simi Valley, Calif.), Oakdale (Calif.), South Florence (S.C.) and Baker (Mobile, Ala.)

The poll is compiled by state representatives from across the country. Among the criteria considered are a school's strength of schedule, the quality of competition in its state or league, and the quality of its players.
