Dunnellon High School (Florida) maintained the top spot in this week’s USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25, released Thursday by the NFCA.
Now at 18-0, the Tigers have posted six straight shutouts to earn the top spot in the rankings for a second straight week. Elsewhere, Santiago (California) is the new No. 2, after former No. 2 Coppell (Texas) fell to 18th after a 3-2 loss to Flower Mound (Texas) this past week.
No. 3 Naples (Florida) and No. 4 Alexander Central (North Carolina) each enjoyed unbeaten weeks to move up one spot in the ratings. New to the Top Five this week is No. 5 Ayala (California), which stands at 12-2 and did not play this past week.
The USA Today/NFCA Top 25 is compiled by state representatives from across the country. Records for this week’s poll include all games played through April 4, 2010.
