For a second straight week, unbeaten Archbishop Mitty (California) keeps the top spot in this week's USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25, released Thursday by the NFCA. The Monarchs recently captured the West Coast Athletic League tournament and opened sectional play with a win this past Saturday.

Mitty paces a California-dominated Top Five, which also includes second-ranked Norco and fourth-ranked Freedom. In between is Arizona Class 4A, Division I state champion Canyon del Oro, who is rated third.

Meanwhile, fifth-ranked Alexander Central (North Carolina) is back in the Top Five after a five-week absence.

Records for this week’s poll include all games played through May 23, 2009.
