LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ava Khoury and Mallory Holland gave Illinois Wesleyan a sweep of the final Division III Wilson/NFCA Pitcher and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week honors of the 2025 season on Tuesday.
Khoury, a senior first baseman from Columbia, Ill., broke the No. 20 Titans’ career home run record with three longballs in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) tournament. She went deep twice on Friday against Millikin then hit another one in Saturday’s championship versus Augustana, giving her eight this season and 34 for her career. For the three CCIW tournament games, Khoury was 5-for-8 (.625) with seven runs batted in.
Holland, meanwhile, tossed a complete-game five-hitter in the championship game and pitched the final 2.2 innings in relief of Gianna Certa in the other two contests for the Titans. The sophomore from Shelbyville, Ill., showed why she was selected CCIW Pitcher of the Year this season, going 12.1 solid innings in the circle in the tournament with a win and two saves.
Illinois Wesleyan (34-7) has now won a program-best 22 straight games and is hoping to play on its home field for the rest of the season. The Titans are hosting their regional round and would also host their super regional if they advance and are the higher-seeded team. Beyond that, the NCAA Division III World Series will be played on May 29-June 4 at the Titans’ Inspiration Field.
