LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Denison’s Annabelle Calderon and Babson’s Moira O’Reilly claimed the latest Division III Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors of the 2024 season on Tuesday.
It’s the second honor of the season for junior catcher Calderon. The Perris, Calif., native batted .714 for the week with two doubles, two triples, a home run and 10 RBI. She slugged 1.357 and made 20 putouts over four games behind the plate. Calderon was 7-for-7 with seven RBI in a twinbill sweep of Kenyon on Sunday, including going 4-for-4 and hitting for the cycle in game two.
O’Reilly pitched back-to-back no-hitters in a doubleheader sweep of Salve Regina on Saturday. The senior left-hander fanned 14 over seven innings in the first game and four more over five in the nightcap. Last Tuesday, the Columbus, Ohio, product struck out nine in a two-hit shutout of Endicott. For the week, O’Reilly was 3-0 with 27 strikeouts, six walks and no runs allowed across 18 innings in the circle.
