LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Carnegie Mellon’s Gianna Adams and St. Olaf’s Medora Rylee claimed the latest Division III Wilson/NFCA Pitcher and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week honors of the 2025 season on Tuesday.
Freshman right-hander Adams was 3-0 with 29 strikeouts and zero walks for the week. The Scranton, Pa., product fanned nine over eight innings and allowed her only extra-base hit across three appearances last Wednesday against Geneva. She then matched her career high with 12 strikeouts in the first of two four-hitters versus NYU. Adams amassed eight more punchouts in her second victory over the Violets.
Rylee, meanwhile, reached base in 13 of her 14 plate appearances, batting .909 (10-for-11) with seven runs, five doubles, two triples, seven RBI and three walks. The Chaska, Minn., native had three multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 effort with three doubles, three runs and two RBI against Augsburg on Wednesday. Seven of her 10 hits went for extra bases.
