LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In the final weekly honors of the 2024 season, Charleston’s Isabella Andujar and East Stroudsburg’s Sarah Davenport were named Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week for their outstanding performances, April 22-28.
In the final four games of the regular season, Andujar led the 11th-ranked Eagles at the plate, batting .692 (9-for-13) with four home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored. She posted a 2.3229 OPS with a 1.308 slugging percentage and .714 on-base percentage. The junior designated player, recorded three multi-hit contests, and set single-game program records with five hits and three home runs, to go along with six RBI, in the final game of the week at Fairmont State.
Davenport appeared in five of ESU’s final six contests of the regular season, which included a pair of complete-game outings. She posted a 3-0 record with a 0.61 ERA and two saves. The senior hurler struck out 43 and issued just one walk in 23 innings of work. Davenport twirled a two-hit complete game shutout at Lock Haven in the regular-season finale. Davenport leads NCAA DII in strikeouts-per-seven innings (12.5), ranks second in strikeouts (273) and third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (10.11).
The above awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA’s eight regions.
