Not only did UT Tyler, as the No. 1 overall seed, run through the DII World Series undefeated for the second straight season (10-0), it shut out the final three opponents - Western Washington in the semifinals and Tampa in the Championship Series – becoming the first program to not allow a run in the Championship Series since its inception in 2016. Additionally, the back-to-back titles are the first in NCAA Division II since California (Pa.) in 1997 and 1998.Along the way to the title, the Patriots swept the South Central 1 Regional and bounced back from a game-one defeat to top West Texas A&M in the Super Regional.

Since 2022 – UT Tyler’s first official season qualifying for the NCAA postseason - the Patriots have won two national championships and reached national semifinals in 2022 and 2023. It was the second 62-win season in the last three seasons with the Patriots collecting 221 victories the last four years.
Making the most of its first DII National Championship appearance, No 2 Tampa (48-12) reached the Championship Series as the tournament, earning wins over Shippensburg, Central Oklahoma and Pace before falling to UT Tyler. The Spartans (48-12) also won the South 2 Regional blanking Barry in the winner-take-all final and then rallying from a game-one loss to win the South Super Regional over Auburn Montgomery.
National semifinalists Western Washington and Pace come in at No. 3 and No. 4, respectfully. The Vikings (47-13), who were national runners-up in 2024, bounced back from a one-run loss to UT Tyler to win a pair of close elimination games over North Georgia and Central Oklahoma, before dropping a 2-0 contest to the Patriots.
The Setters (48-13) enjoyed their most successful season in program history with numerous firsts. Pace won its first Super Regional, earned a trip to the National Championship and smashed its single-season wins record, which originally was 33. In Chattanooga, they finished 2-2 in four tightly-contested contests, earning wins over Shippensburg and Saginaw Valley State.
National Championship participants No. 5 Central Oklahoma (52-11), No. 6 Saginaw Valley State (49-15), No. 7 North Georgia (48-16) and No. 8 Shippensburg (36-22), along with two Super Regional squads – No. 9 West Texas A&M (56-8) and No. 10 Francis Marion (53-6) make up the top 10.
Shippensburg and No. 24 Missouri Southern (39-19), a regional finalist, to earned their first ranking of the season in the final poll, while No. 15 Cal State San Marcos, No. 17 Barry and No. 21 Wilmington made their way back into the Top 25. The Buccaneers (37-17) took national-runner up Tampa to a winner take all game in regionals, while the Cougars (43-23) and Wildcats (38-16) won their Super Regional openers before falling to Western Washington and Pace, respectively.
