LOUISVILLE, Ky. – West Texas A&M and Francis Marion ran their win streaks to 28 and 22 games, respectively, and continued for the second straight week at No. 1 and No. 2 in the NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Lady Buffs (48-2) notched four more Lone Star Conference victories, three via a shutout to improve to 38-2 in conference action. WT’s offense continued its torrid pace, outscoring UT Permian Basin and Sul Ross State by a combined 47-1. The Lady Buffs lead NCAA Division II in scoring at 9.48 runs per game and also top DII in batting average (.386), slugging (.682) and home runs (84 / tied).

The Patriots (43-3) ended their regular season on a 22-game win streak and captured the Conference Carolina regular-season title (East Division) for the second consecutive season. Their 43 wins are a new regular season high, breaking the mark of 41 set just a season ago.

No. 3 UT Tyler and No. 4 Tampa switched spots. The third-ranked Patriots (43-4) hit the 40-win plateau with LSC road sweeps of Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International, while the Spartans (36-6) dropped two-of-three at home to Florida Tech in Sunshine State Conference action.

The next five spots stayed as is with No. 5 Central Oklahoma, No. 6 AUM, No. 7 Angelo State, No. 8 North Georgia and No. 9 Southern Arkansas, which posted a combined 17-4 mark. Both AUM and Angelo State enjoyed unscathed weekends, while UCO, UNG and SAU all suffered conference defeats. The loss by the ninth-ranked Muleriders to Southeastern Oklahoma State snapped their 27-game win streak.

Western Washington, who’s been hovering just below the top 10 the past six weeks, grabbed the No. 10 spot after it ran through Central Washington on the road last week. The Vikings (33-10) exploded offensively, outscoring CWU, 49-5, scoring double figures in each of the four games.

Two programs moved into the top 20 for the first time this season as Pace and Tiffin come in at No. 17 and 18. The 17th-ranked Setters (32-8) have won 26 straight, second longest streak in the NCAA, and have not dropped a game since they returned from a non-conference trip to California. The Dragons (34-10) swept a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference twinbills and have won 12 of their last 13 and 23 of their last 25 contests.

Saginaw Valley State comes in at No. 24 as is nationally ranked for the first time since Feb. 29, 2012. The Cardinals (36-10) went 5-1 last week and have won 22 of their last 24 contests.

Joining the aforementioned programs who rose in the rankings, No. 11 Augustana, No. 14 Saint Leo, No. 16 Oklahoma Christian, No. 21 Pittsburg State and No. 22 San Francisco State all moved up in the poll.
