LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The top three teams remained intact as UT Tyler ran its win streak to 14 games and continued its hold on No. 1 in this week’s NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. There was movement below the top three as six of the seven teams received new rankings this week.
With four Lone Star Conference road wins against Cameron and then-No. 18 Oklahoma Christian, the Patriots (31-2) were one of three Division II programs to reach the 30-win plateau last week.
The team with the longest active win streak in the nation (all three divisions) is No. 2 Tampa (29-1), which has now won 25 straight contests after a three-game Sunshine State Conference series sweep at Embry-Riddle.
No. 3 West Texas A&M (32-2) has engineered a 12-game winning streak following home LSC sweeps of then-No. 4 Angelo State and Lubbock Christian.
Francis Marion elevated to No. 4 and Auburn-Montgomery remained at No. 5. The Patriots (29-3) swept three doubleheaders at home, while the WarHawks (20-7) picked up two 8-0 shutouts in a Gulf South series win at UAH.
Central Oklahoma climbed the ladder as well, moving from No. 10 to No. 6 after two conference wins over then-No. 6 Rogers State and Northeastern State.
Angelo State and Rogers State dipped to No. 7 and 8, respectively. The Rambelles (26-8) suffered an 0-4 week, falling twice each to West Texas A&M and Midwestern State, while the Hillcats (24-7) went 4-2 earning two wins at Oklahoma Christian and Newman, respectively.
