LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nebraska’s Jordy Bahl and Clemson’s Brooke McCubbin were voted Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for contests played April 21-27. It marks the second player of the week honor this season for Bahl.

Bahl keyed the Huskers to a Big Ten series win at Washington, picking up two wins in the circle and also charging the offense with three home runs and eight RBI. For the series, she batted .625 (5-for-8), slugged 1.750 and reached base at a .636 clip, while posting a 2.84 ERA with 23 strikeouts and a .136 batting average against. Bahl tossed a one-hit shutout, fanning 11 Huskies, and left the yard twice with five RBI in the series finale. She also homered in a game one victory.

McCubbin picked up three of the Tigers’ four wins last week, including tossing the final four innings in a nine-inning win at then-No. 4 Tennessee. She recorded 12 scoreless innings over her three appearances, scattering five hits and striking out three batters. McCubbin held the Lady Vols to a pair of singles and two walks to secure the upset over Tennessee. She also went the first four innings (2H, 3 K) in game one and the final four frames (1 H) in game three to collect two wins at Georgia Tech.

The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll Committee, which features one member head coach from each of the NCAA’s 31 conferences.
