LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 1 Texas widened the gap between itself and No. 2 Oklahoma in this week’s 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Longhorns (34-3) won their Southeastern Conference series at new-No. 17 Mississippi State, while the Sooners (31-3) dropped two of three at home to new-No. 7 Tennessee in SEC action.
Top-ranked Texas bounced back from a series-opening 4-3 loss to the Bulldogs (29-8) in Starkville with 7-3 and 7-2 wins to grab hold of first place in the league. Along with their mid-week victory over Stephen F. Austin, the Longhorns’ 34 wins are the most in Division I and second highest across all three divisions.
The Sooners opened the week edging Wichita State by a field goal in a 19-16 slugfest on the road before their three-game set versus the Lady Vols (29-7). UT, which moved up two spots with its series victory, opened the weekend with a 5-2 win in eight innings. After OU evened the series with a 5-1 triumph, the Lady Vols edged the Sooners 5-3 in the finale.
Florida and Texas A&M overtook LSU for the No. 3 and 4 positions. For the Gators (33-5), it was a return to the three spot after two weeks at No. 4. UF did get shut out by UCF in a midweek matchup in Orlando before earning a three-game sweep at then-No. 25 Auburn.
The Aggies (31-5) won five non-conference home games, three against Loyola Marymount, and outscored the opposition, 53-7.
No. 5 LSU dropped its SEC series at home to No. 10 South Carolina. Following a run-rule victory by the Tigers (31-4) to open the series, the Gamecocks (27-7) rebounded with 5-3 (8 inn.) and 4-1 wins.
Oregon stays at No. 6 for a second consecutive week, scoring 41 runs in a two-game Big Ten sweep of Rutgers. After a 20-1 win in which they matched a program record with 19 base hits, the Ducks (31-3) set the program record a day later with 20 hits in a 21-2 thumping.
Tennessee, Florida State, UCLA and South Carolina round out the final four spots in the top 10. The Seminoles (33-5) currently own a 13-game win streak, longest active in Division I, while the Bruins (32-5) have won nine of their last 10 contests.
No. 13 Virginia Tech made the biggest move inside the top 25, elevating three spots after a three-game sweep of then-No. 13 Stanford. The Hokies (28-5) won three one-run contests against the Cardinal, holding off seventh-inning rallies in the first two games and seeing Cori McMillan walk it off for VT with a seventh-inning solo home run to complete the sweep.
Alabama makes a return to the rankings at No. 24 following a two-week absence. The Crimson Tide (25-13) went 3-1 last week, which included a SEC series win against then-No. 15 Georgia.
