LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced 144 student-athletes from 64 programs have received 2021 NFCA NAIA All-Region accolades.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s six regions with first- and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region vote on the teams, and all student-athletes now become eligible for the 2021 NFCA NAIA All-America squads.
Oregon Tech out of Region IV led all programs with seven All-Region honors, which included six on the first team. Campbellsville (VI), Columbia College (II), Indiana Wesleyan (VI), Oklahoma City (III), Southern Oregon (III), William Carey (II) each had five all-region nods. The SOU Raiders, the No. 1 overall seed at the NAIA Softball World Series, and the Columbia Cougars received five first-team plaudits apiece.
Truett McConnell paced Region I with five total all-region accolades with three on the first team. In Region V, Central Methodist and Olivet Nazarene each picked up four all-region nods as well as two apiece on the first team. Previously-mentioned Indiana Wesleyan topped its region with three first-team accolades.
Conference players and pitchers of the year from member institutions are added to the second team if they were not already voted to an All-Region squad. In some instances, limited regional nominations prevent a position from being filled.
The 2021 NFCA NAIA All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 7.
