Kansas City, Mo. - Columbia International's Kendall Parker and Hope International's Allie Puente were named the first NAIA Player and Pitcher of the week for the 2022 season.
Over the course of four games, Parker hit .733 with six RBI and slugged .933. She recorded 11 hits, three of which were doubles, and scored four runs. The junior registered consecutive four-hit games against Benedict and Johnson, going 4-for-4 and 4-for-6, respectively.
Puente recorded her third no-hitter of the season against RV Simpson and twirled a shutout against Eastern Oregon. The sophomore hurler posted a 0.67 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 31.1 innings of work. She currently ranks first in the NAIA with six shutouts and 131 strikeouts.
Student-athletes were nominated for their performances and were selected out of a pool of conference and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) award winners.
