Since LaGrange lost their opening game of the season 4-3 in eight-innings to Mansfield (Texas), the Leopards have won 33 straight. After 5-2 and 8-1 wins over Splendora, LaGrange will now face Hargrave (Huffman, Texas) in the next round of the playoffs. The date and time for that game have yet to be confirmed.
No. 2 Eagle (Idaho) completed regular season play and will face Boise (Idaho) for the district championship this evening.
No. 3 Deer Park (Texas) defeated Fort Bend Travis (Richmond, Texas) 11-3 and will now face pre-season USA Today Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 No. 1 Pearland (Texas) for the state championship. Deer Park defeated Pearland 8-0 when the two teams met on Feb. 27.
The USA Today Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 will be released every Thursday through June 9.
