LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Loyola Academy’s (Ill.) Hunter Lewis, Pensacola Catholic’s (Fla.) Titera Dukes, Marionville’s (Mo.) Maggie Murphy and Ruidoso’s (N.M.) Angelin Duran were named MaxPreps / NFCA National High School Players of the Week for games played March 11-17.

Lewis was unhittable and nearly perfect in her first two starts of the 2024 campaign. The sophomore hurler twirled a pair of no-hitters in which she totaled 32 strikeouts and walked just one batter in 14 innings of work. She faced one batter over the minimum in both starts. In the season opener against Glenbrook South, Lewis fanned 14 and issued one walk in the 1-0 victory. She followed up with an 18-strikeout performance in a 3-0 triumph over Evanston in which the only baserunner reached via an error.

Dukes slugged her way to this week’s honor as she went 7-for-7 with four home runs, two doubles, a triple and 15 RBI in two wins for Pensacola Catholic. The senior posted a monstrous 3.285 slugging percentage and scored eight runs. Dukes homered and scored four times in both contests, driving in nine runs against Booker T. Washington and six more versus Destin. She added a double and a triple against Booker T. Washington.

Murphy batted .800 (8-for-10) and reached base in 10 of 12 plate appearances. She recorded eight runs, homered twice and swiped two bases in three games last week. Murphy opened the week 4-for-4 with four runs scored and was a triple short of the cycle against Southwest. The senior also left the yard and scored two runs versus Exeter. Murphy added two runs versus Verona.

Duran went 9-for-10 (.900) at the plate with five doubles, a triple, nine RBI and 13 runs scored in four wins last week. She doubled twice with four RBI and four runs scored in game one of a doubleheader versus Hatch Valley. Duran tripled and scored three more times in the nightcap against the Bears. The freshman registered two more doubles, three RBI and three runs in game one versus Socorro.
