LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Trinity Prep’s (Fla.) Mckenna Hawley, Taft’s (Texas) Hannah Flores and Pahrump Valley's (Nev.) Evalenne Armendariz captured 2025 MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon. They are being recognized for their outstanding play during the week of March 3-9.
Hawley fanned 35 batters over two starts to claim top honors in the South Region. The junior struck out 18 in a 2-0 one-hitter Tuesday versus Lyman and 17 more in an 8-1 three-hitter Thursday against The First Academy. For the two contests, Hawley did not allow in extra-base hit in the circle for the (5-1) Saints.
Meanwhile in the South Central, Flores was 6-for-6 with two runs, three doubles, a homer and two walks for the (11-2) Raiders. The senior doubled, homered and collected three RBI in a 6-1 win over Warren on Tuesday, and went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three more RBI in a 22-5 triumph over Sotomayor on Friday.
Armendariz was the choice in the West Region following a week in which she was a perfect 6-for-6 in two victories for the (4-3) Trojans. The sophomore went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, two doubles, a homer and five RBI in a 15-0 rout of Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on Monday, then had two more doubles and two more RBI on Wednesday in a 14-1 victory over Mater Academy East Las Vegas.
