LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Chatfield High School’s (Colo.) Jessyca Vargas captured the first 2025 MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Fall Player of the Week award. She is being recognized for her outstanding play for the week of Aug. 18-24.
Sophomore right-hander Vargas tossed six no-hit innings in the Chargers’ 10-0 triumph over Vista Ridge last Tuesday. In her first start of the season in the circle, she struck out 12 of the 20 batters she faced, walked one and hit a batter. Chatfield (1-1), which lost 12-8 at Chaparral on Thursday returns home on Tuesday to play Legend, as the Colorado softball season continues to get rolling.
