Six of the top international softball teams have converged on Oklahoma City for the II World Cup of Softball that begins Thursday and runs through Monday, July 17.
The United States enters the second annual event looking to avenge last season’s 3-1 loss to Japan in the championship.
Not only will the U.S. once again have to contend with the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, but reigning silver medalist Australia as well. The six-team field also includes Canada, who gave the defending Olympic gold medalist its first international loss in over a decade, China and Great Britain.
ESPN and ESPN2 will televise the United States’ pool play action in addition to the championship game July 17 at 9 p.m. EST.
