Olivet College (Mich.) senior Beth Shunkwiler has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week of March 14-20. 

This past week she went 4-for-6 in the Lady Comets’ sweep of Franklin (Ind.). She also record three doubles and two RBIs in the two games. 

Shunkwiler has hit at a .500 clip in leading the Lady Comets to a school-record 7-1 start. Her four home runs so far this season have tied the Olivet single-season record, breaking the school’s single game record with two round-trippers against Dominican (Ill.). 

She also had five RBIs against DU, and her 15 for the year already better her 2004 total. In eight games, Shunkwiler has gone 13-for-26 at the plate with six doubles and a triple. 

The NFCA Division III Player of the Week will be announced every Wednesday through Apr. 27.
