Heavy rain in southwest Georgia forced play to be postponed in the eighth annual NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga.
Six games were in progress when play was halted around 1:30 EST Friday. Play will resume on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the conclusion of the halted games. Washington leads South Carolina, 2-1 going into the bottom of the sixth. Stanford holds a 3-0 advantage over North Carolina in the bottom of the fifth inning. Massachusetts has a 7-1 lead over Oregon State in the top of the sixth while Alabama leads Illinois State 3-0 in the fifth. Arizona State and DePaul are scoreless heading into the bottom of the seventh inning and Oklahoma sits in a 1-1 deadlock with Villanova in the sixth.
