LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a nine-year collegiate coaching career, Lyndsey Talbot has joined the NFCA as Director of Innovation announced on Tuesday by Executive Director Carol Bruggeman with the support of the Board of Directors.
In this newly-designed role, Talbot, who previously was the head coach at State Fair Community College, will be directly involved in NFCA Camps, coaching education and sponsorships, along with serving as the liaison for Emeriti and NJCAA coaches.
“I am very excited to be joining the NFCA and thankful for the opportunity to continue to work in the field of softball,” said Talbot. “I have been a member of the NFCA since the beginning of my coaching career, and I knew it was a place I wanted to work and be immersed in all that they provide coaches and student-athletes. I am eager to dive in and get to work with Carol and her staff.”
During her tenure at SFCC, Talbot was a recipient of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s Diamond 9 Award, recognizing her for contributions in the sport of softball in the state of Missouri. Talbot’s teams earned three consecutive NJCAA Academic Team awards, commemorating the highest respective team GPA, while numerous players captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors. Under her guidance, multiple student-athletes were named to the NJCAA and NFCA All-Region teams.
"We are thrilled to welcome Lyndsey Talbot to our NFCA team,” said Bruggeman. “Lyndsey is motivated and multi-talented. Her experience as a softball coach and administrator makes her the perfect fit for our newly-created Director of Innovation. Our Association has grown tremendously, specifically in education, events, and sponsorships over the last few years. We also have been able to work with various groups surrounding the sport to create positive change. Our goal is to continue on an upward path and Lyndsey will play a big role in making it happen."
