Alabama sophomore P/1B Charlotte Morgan has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I National Player of the Week for the week ending April 6, it was announced on Tuesday.

Morgan hit .500 going 5-for-10 at the plate with five extra-base hits including three doubles and two home runs. She drove in six runs over the weekend with a 1.400 slugging percentage, three runs scored and a .583 on-base mark as the Tide swept a three-game series from then-No. 10 LSU.

In the circle, Morgan started and won the second and third games of the LSU series, allowing just one run in two complete-game performances that spanned 12 innings with eight strikeouts. Morgan threw a five-inning shutout in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader and then surrendered just one run on four hits in a seven-inning complete game against the Tigers on Sunday as No. 2 Alabama completed the sweep.

Morgan’s first home run of the series, in the opening game of Saturday’s doubleheader, was a three-run walk-off shot in the bottom of the 10th inning that completed a miraculous comeback win for the Tide.

The Crimson Tide’s statistical leader with 48 RBI, 14 doubles and 10 home runs on the season, Morgan holds a .417 batting average with a .420 BA in Southeastern Conference play.
